Delaware County Chamber of Commerce to
Rededicate Office in the City of Chester

September 10, 2008

The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce will formally rededicate its Chester office presence in the University Technology Park, a state-of-the-art facility owned by Widener University and the Crozer-Keystone Health System, on September 24th at 5:00 pm with a ceremonial ribbon cutting with local business and civic leaders. The newly reopened office will be located in office-space generously donated to the Chamber by the Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union (FMFCU). The Chamber had previously been housed in this office in the late 1990’s.

“Reopening our Chester office in the UTP, with the support of the FMFCU, represents the type of partnership we are proud to be a part of,” stated Chamber President Jeff Vermeulen. “This location offers us the ability to work closer than ever with the Widener Small Business Development Center and the Keystone Innovation Zone. Sharing the same office facility with these valued economic development partners will allow us to significantly expand our role as an accelerator for business in the City, the County, and the entire region.”

The office will allow the Chamber to work with its partners to host networking events and educational programs to encourage and support business opportunities in the area. There will also be one-on-one, confidential business counseling and mentoring available to Chester small business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs through the Chamber’s strategic partnership with SCORE, a program administered by the U.S. Small Business Association.

“Without question, the Chamber’s presence can be felt in virtually every project we’re working on the City and throughout the County,” stated Jerry Miller, Senior Executive at the Crozer Keystone Health System and Board Member for the Institute for Economic Development. “This newly reopened office at the UTP can only help us better coordinate our collective economic development initiatives.”

The Chamber office at the University Technology Park is located at 1450 Edgmont Avenue, Chester, PA.
