Inclusive Economic Alliance Committee | Co-Chair Biographies: Dionne Douglas & Kristy Purnell

​Dionne Douglas is a Sr. Engineering Manager at the Kimberly-Clark Chester Mill (KC). She is responsible for developing the talents of her team and driving engineering results across multiple assets within the mill. In addition, Dionne sits on the Mill Leadership Team making her indirectly responsible for the overall mill success. Dionne’s previous roles within KC as an Asset, Utilities and Capital Projects Engineer, helped to develop her technical and leadership skills in preparation for her current role.
 
Prior to Kimberly-Clark, Dionne worked in varying industries located across the US. She spent time with The Boeing Company building the 747, 767 and 777 airplanes, with Corning, Inc. producing high purity fused silica for the semiconductor industry and with Target supporting their distribution centers.
 
Through it all, Dionne has maintained a passion for volunteering and community service. She has served as a volunteer in each organization, hoping to positively affect every community that she encounters. Currently, Dionne serves as the co-Chair of the KC Chester Mill’s United Way campaign, helping to raise over $400K annually for the local community. In addition, she serves on the Board of Directors for the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Delaware County Local Board and The Foundation of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce. Dionne also serves on the Widener University School of Engineering Board of Advisors.
 
Originally from Philadelphia, PA, Dionne earned her Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at North Carolina A&T State University and her Executive Master of Business Administration from the Jack Welsh Management Institute. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and four daughters - or you may find her on a stage dancing with her performance dance troupe.

Kristy Purnell is an accomplished professional and long-term resident of Delaware County, currently serving as a member of the Foundation Board for the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce, Co-Chair of the Inclusive Economic Alliance Committee, as well as an active member of the Women’s Connection Committee. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Drexel University and an MBA from American InterContinental University.

With nearly 20 years of experience in sales, Kristy has a robust background in project management software sales, technology sales, and business development, having worked with esteemed organizations such as Primavera Systems, Oracle, and SunGard Availability Services.  She later transitioned to management consulting, specializing in project and change management, and joined Vanguard in 2017. Kristy became involved with the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce in 2018, where she actively contributed to programs such as the Youth Leadership Academy and Leadership Delaware County and became a member of the Foundation Board.

Kristy’s expertise lies in guiding and implementing transformational change management initiatives for critical business functions. She has successfully developed, executed high-impact leadership development programs, and created structured learning environments that empower employees through various transitions. As an engaged board member, Kristy has led multiple strategy sessions, facilitated Chamber retreats, and championed initiatives that enhance brand awareness while identifying opportunities to bridge gaps within the Chamber.

A passionate networker, Kristy excels at building relationships and cultivating connections that foster growth within the Chamber and the broader community. Her dedication to supporting the Chamber's goals is evident in her proactive approach and willingness to go above and beyond.  In addition to her professional pursuits, Kristy has managed her own youth mentoring group, served as the Director of Mentorship for the Uniquely You Summit organization, and supported various boards focused on fostering culture, opportunities, and legacy for entrepreneurs and business professionals.

Currently, Kristy works as an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant within the Talent Strategy and HR Operations department at Main Line Health and resides in Delaware County with her husband, Calvin, daughter, Brooklynn, and their dog, DMX.
