Neumann University
The Center for Leadership The partnership between the Center for Leadership and the Chamber will bring a better focus on issues related specifically to the business community of Delaware County. In addition to providing advertising synergy to both parties, the Chamber will offer strategic guidance on Center for Leadership programming and engage chamber members for potential speaking opportunities for local businesses.
The Center for Leadership serves as a venue for existing and emerging community, business, and non-profit leaders to enhance their leadership skills. Center for Leadership programs bring together three to five high-ranking executives to discuss topics related to leadership, business ethics, community development, and entrepreneurship. Each program is designed to develop leaders who are: better prepared for their offices, educated to avoid potential pitfalls, and equipped with the tools to make values-driven decisions with a positive impact for the community and business. This is a great opportunity for attorneys to earn CLE or CPE credits for accountants by attending programs at The Center for Leadership. All programs are free for Chamber Members! Learn more about the Center for Leadership by visiting their website. Wardrobes for Work The Center for Leadership at Neumann University is sponsoring a donation drive in support of men and women entering or re-entering the workplace by offering them free professional attire. The Chamber office is a drop-off location!
OJT (On-the-Job Training)
OJT involves the teaching of skills, knowledge and competencies needed to perform a specific job in the workplace. Utilizing an employer's existing workplace tools, equipment, processes and documentation, allows the employee to gain skills and knowledge to effectively and efficiently perform his or her job.
OJT occurs within the normal working environment an employee will experience on the job. Training may occur as the employee performs actual work or may take place elsewhere within the workplace utilizing training rooms, training workstations, or training equipment. OTJ is most frequently conducted by another employee who can competently perform the job. While the goal of OJT is often to teach basic workplace skills, it also instills aspects of the workplace culture and performance expectations in the new employee. The benefits of OJT can be seen by employers and funding agencies, as well as the employees. Contact us today for more information: 610-565-3677
