The presence of the coronavirus (COVID-29) epidemic is being felt and making a significant impact on the daily lives of human beings across the globe. Starting in Wuhan, China and now hear in Delaware County, this outbreak has overwhelmed the health care industry.
Today, Delaware County has 80 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and that number is expected to soar as we have seen in states that boarder Pennsylvania like New Jersey and New York. Our health care professionals provide essential services to ensure the residents of our community are healthy and can live fulfilling lives year-round but right now they are facing a crisis. Supplies shortages are putting these professionals at risk and holding them back from being able to provide the type of care that is required for each patient. Non-life-sustaining businesses may continue to operate remotely virtually or by telework (i.e. working from home) conducted individually, and in doing so must follow the social distancing and other COVID-19 mitigation guidance provided by the Pennsylvania Department of Health and CDC.
What's a non-life sustaining business? and other FAQ's After looking at this list and you're still not sure, further clarification can be asked by emailing the Department of Community and Economic Development (DCED) customer service resource account at ra-dcedcs@pa.gov, or call 1-877-PA-HEALTH and select option 1 to reach DCED staff. For businesses that determine from the list that they are non-life sustaining, but would like to seek a waiver, there is an online waiver application.
