SPRINGFIELD, PA – The Delaware County Chamber of Commerce announced its first ever Virtual Women in Leadership webinar focusing on Managing and Prospering through Change. The chamber invites the local business community to attend the webinar and learn from a panel of professional women who have persevered through various obstacles in their careers, the management techniques they relied on and how they have applied and/ or modified them through the constantly evolving climate we find ourselves in today. These revolutionary professionals are an electric group of women who come from diverse backgrounds and industries but who all have an individual take on the topic of change management. Throughout their careers, these women have faced various challenges, professionally and personally, but they continue to triumph over these barriers which has made their resilience a vital tool as we continue to navigate the unimaginable conditions we are currently faced with.
WHO: MODERATOR: Debra M. “Rockey” Rockey, PsyD, Lead Consultant – Culture, Change & Engagement at Trinity Health - Rockey is a Global Career Development Facilitator, an Executive Coach, and a ProSCI Certified Change Practicioner. These skills have enabled her to work with numerous individuals in their succession plans, career development, and learning development plans – at all levels of an organization. PANEL: Aimee-Kate Braconnier, Vice President & Executive Director of Catholic Community Choir (CCC) - Joining CCC in 2010 as the choreographer, Aimee-Kate’s role quickly grew to focus on CCC's organizational development, structure and goals for a successful future. Since Aimee-Kate joined the team, she has built programs, established and strengthened relationships with donors, sponsors, community partners and most of all, our members. Aimee-Kate has developed programs for high school and college students who are aspiring educators and performing arts professionals, allowing each to have hands-on experience with children and a community theater program as each works towards his or her goals. Aimee-Kate’s goal is to always spread the mission of CCC and to continually provide an open environment for all children so that each young person has the ability to share their gifts and talents on and off stage. Outside of CCC, Aimee-Kate is actively involved with Cardinal O'Hara High School as the Director of Alumni Relations, Co-Director of the Theater Program and the Mini-THON Advisor. She is also actively involved with the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (Greater Delaware Valley Chapter), is a Board Member for Delaware County Chamber of Commerce and the Chair of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce Young Professionals. MeLissa Pernell, Learning Manager, Independence Blue Cross - An adult learning professional with over 13 years of experience in corporate training, MeLissa held many entry-level positions throughout high school and college, however, MeLissa’s professional experience officially began interning as a customer service agent with a large financial firm. After her internship, MeLissa remained at the firm for several years where she earned her way into a management role and eventually transitioned into corporate training. It was during this time that MeLissa realized her calling and was ecstatic to find her niche in corporate training. Since then, MeLissa continued to pursue career advancement opportunities in corporate training and has had the opportunity to manage corporate training functions across many different industries including banking, education, hospitality, and health insurance. MeLissa's professional certifications include Emotional Intelligence, DiSC Behavioral Styles, and Situational Leadership. MeLissa's corporate training experience includes soft skills training such as interpersonal communication, organizational behavior, and leadership development. Additionally, MeLissa has experience managing tactical training such as new hire on-boarding, Compliance, and Operations training. MeLissa is a strong believer that people are the ultimate competitive advantage in today’s ever-changing business environment and advocates heavily for the investment in people through high quality, human-centered learning experiences. Pamela Sarne McCormick, Director of Legislative and Community Affairs at the Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA), where she works with a dedicated team of professionals to strengthen the region’s mobility and quality of life. Throughout her career at SEPTA and at the Greater Philadelphia Chamber of Commerce, McCormick has worked with business, political, labor and community leaders to advance many of the region's most vital policy issues, economic development projects and special events. She joined stakeholders across Pennsylvania to promote passage of Act 89, a $2.4 billion statewide transportation funding plan and collaborated with national advocates to secure passage of the FAST Act, a long-term federal infrastructure investment program. McCormick also managed efforts to support the Hub of Hope, a homeless engagement center at SEPTA Suburban Station, led SEPTA’s annual United Way campaign, and coordinated activities including the Southeast Partnership for Mobility and the statewide Bus Roadeo. Her advocacy efforts are now concentrated on SEPTA’s response and recovery from the COVID-19 crisis and coronavirus pandemic. With a keen focus on equity and resilience, McCormick works to promote legislative support and stakeholder engagement to advance SEPTA’s policy priorities that include adequate, sustainable investment and ongoing efforts to strengthen the economy, support equity, advance sustainability and promote public health and safety. McCormick serves on the Boards of the United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey, Main Line Chamber of Commerce, Greater Valley Forge Transportation Management Association, Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association and Summer Search Philadelphia. She is a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University and lives in Wayne, Pennsylvania.
