My journey has been unique. I found my way into hospitality all because I had someone take a chance on me. My career in this industry began in 2014. It was a slow start with no experience in the industry but, I made sure to take the initiative, ask the right questions, and focus on my future path. I knew I enjoyed sales and enjoyed talking with people. This allowed me to begin forging my own path and making those connections. A personal milestone for me was a mentor, who believed in me and gave me multiple opportunities for growth. It allowed me to understand where I wanted to end up and gave me the confidence I needed to strive for excellence. How did you hear about LDC and why did you sign up to take part in it?I heard about LDC on LinkedIn when a client of mine was a 2023 Class Graduate. I saw all the posts and the began researching what exactly it was all about. I signed up because I am always looking to grow in my career development and enhance my leadership skills to better perform in my current and future roles.
What inspires you? How does that inspiration play into your professional life? I am inspired by those who were mentors to me over the course of my life. I was fortunate to witness them each in their element, and had a takeaway from each position, as well as each person I have had the opportunity to work with or for. Briefly, describe a transformative moment that helped to shift your approach to your career. I was given the opportunity to run, host, and speak at an event. It allowed me to understand what it was to be a leader and have the confidence in myself to take that next big step in advancing my career. It led me to where I am and has allowed me to excel in my current role. What has been the most valuable professional advice and/or lesson you’ve received? Building relationships is so important and it goes to show how valuable connections with people are. Whether it's professional or personal fostering relationships is crucial in life.
