Media Borough Recreation Board to Host Annual Halloween Parade Saturday, October 29th at 11AM10/6/2022 (MEDIA BOROUGH, PA — October X, 2022) — The Media Borough Recreation Board is hosting this year’s annual Halloween parade on Saturday, October 29th (rain date Sunday, October 30th) at 11AM on State Street in Media, Pennsylvania. After 55 years hosted by Town Talk Newspapers, the organization is no longer able to sponsor the parade. Instead of letting this beloved event disappear, Media Borough is taking it over to keep the tradition and magic alive for Halloween. While attendees can expect many of the same groups they look forward to seeing each year, there will be many new and first-time groups participating as well. Some of the returning groups include the Penncrest High School Marching Band, the Strath Haven High School Panther Marching Band and Cheerleading, the County Corvette Association, Girl Scouts of the Providence Service Unit and Cub Scout Pack 85. New to the parade this year is Providence Animal Center, Media Bee City USA and Rose Tree Colts Football and Cheer with groups being added every day.
The Halloween Parade line-up begins on Street Street at Monroe Street and ends at Orange Street. All parade watchers are invited to come to the parade in costume and can expect plenty of bands, frightening floats, spooky surprises, costumes and, of course, candy. “We are thrilled to be able to continue the celebrated tradition of the Annual Halloween parade in Media,” said Media Borough Council Vice President, Elizabeth Romaine. “Parade day has historically been one of the most exciting days of the year for our community. I want to thank the Town Talk Newspapers for planning this incredible event for the last 55 years, the Media Borough Recreation Board for stepping up to host the parade this year and the community groups who showcase their creativity and talents for our benefit and help make the parade so much fun time and time again.” The parade time is earlier this year at 11AM to encourage participants and attendees to enjoy all of the restaurants and shops Media has to offer, as well as cultural centers like the Media Theatre, the Media Arts Council and the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum. Immediately following the parade, the Media-Upper Providence Free Library will be hosting cider and soft pretzels for attendees on their porch on Jackson Street.
