![]() Q&A: Nicole de Botton Robinson, Vice President of National Realty Corporation (NRC) and current member of the Delaware County Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors Nicole de Botton Robinson is the Vice President of National Realty Corporation (NRC), a family owned and operated residential and commercial real estate development company based in Delaware County. As Vice President of NRC, Nicole is responsible for managing all aspects of business operations. In particular, her primary focus is on human resources, insurance, industry analysis, marketing and public relations. Nicole is the “go to” person that ensures NRC operates efficiently, maintains its excellent employee relations and cultivates lasting relationships within the communities where NRC does business. The Memorial is located on West Chester Pike in Newtown Square and serves to honor and remember all Veterans as well as to educate children about our country through its extensive education program. Nicole managed in every aspect of the Memorial’s construction.
In 2013, the Memorial was dedicated with the help of veterans, first responders, dignitaries, residents and neighbors of Delaware County. Since then, Nicole continues to tirelessly spearhead DCVMA’s mission to provide a place to honor our Veterans past, present and future and an interactive setting to learn about our nation’s history. Nicole has enjoyed her work with other philanthropic organizations such as Living Beyond Breast Cancer ; Children’s Hospital of Pennsylvania (CHOP) and “Camp Erin” a bereavement camp for kids started by Phillies baseball great, Jamie Moyer. Whether it is in business, for charity, or in her personal life, Nicole is passionate about inspiring others to excel. How many years have you been with your current company/ organization? Over 30 years Why do you believe your business/ organization a Chamber member? National Realty Corp was founded and has been rooted in the Delaware County community for over 6 decades. Connecting with the community and with local businesses are the main reasons that our company has worked closely with the Chamber for so many years What has been the most valuable aspect of your Delaware County Chamber of Commerce membership? One of the first suggestions we make to our tenants interested in growing and developing their business, is to join the Chamber. By doing so, they can benefit from and utilize the Chamber’s expansive network and resources. The Chamber provides social media exposure and events that bring small and large businesses together to network, connect, improve, and broaden relationships. The Chamber also represents its members’ interests before elected bodies and promotes the area’s businesses, strengths, and assets. What advice would you give to a young woman starting out her career? Every day is a new learning experience…wake up every day excited to be part of “the team” – do your very best each day and gather inspiration and knowledge from those who have been in your shoes. In honor of March being International Women's Month, can you identify a woman in history that has inspired you and explain why? Brene Brown is an inspiration to me. Through her books and webcasts, she focuses on courage, vulnerability, empathy, and leadership. Can you explain any obstacles you have faced as a woman in the workplace and how you got past them? I am fortunate to be with a company that supports and encourages women. Outside of my company I feel that women supporting women is key and a big part of that is networking with other women professionals. Listening to webinars and lectures presented by some of my favorite inspirational women in business has given me strength and motivation to approach each day with a positive attitude and achievable goals. Can you share any tips you have for woman who are trying to make secure a board of directors’ position? Believing in the organization is a great motivator. Identify your strengths and skill set and work hard to promote the mission of the organization. Becoming involved in an organization that is seeking someone like you is a truly rewarding experience. What motivates you? Relationships and collaboration with others are huge motivators for me. Working as a team to help move people and businesses forward is incredibly rewarding. Are you involved with any other community organizations or charities? * My primary involvement is as the Director of Development of The Delaware County Veterans Memorial Association in Newtown Square (DCVMA).
